Trash the Dress Photo Session in Manhattan, New York | Danielle & Ian

So maybe you didn’t get the artistic, unique pictures that you really wanted on your wedding day (don’t feel bad, we didn’t either). Maybe when you look at your wedding pictures you are thankful for the moments captured, but feel that your connection to each other was not accurately portrayed. Or possibly you didn’t have the time needed on your wedding day to get the images that you hoped for…

If you identify with the first paragraph or just didn’t realize that wedding pictures had the potential to be out of this world, then a bridal/day after/or trash the dress session is an amazing opportunity to have the pictures that you deserve. We haven’t settled on the name that we want to use for these sessions going forward (new website launching soon), we dislike “trash the dress” because we really prefer that you didn’t trash it. We just want you to sit in it, lay in it, and let us do our thing (you know those things that most brides are not down with the day of their wedding).

Enter Ian & Danielle, the VERY cool friends of our friends and past wedding couple, Jill & Jared. When I met Danielle she was itching to wear her gown again, and then after seeing Jill’s pictures she was really excited to schedule a session with Eric and I. The best part is, Ian & Danielle gave us full creative license to do what we wanted, where we wanted…so we decided to shoot at night for the first time in the Meat Packing District in New York City. To contribute to the styling of the shoot Eric and I knew floral design would be important and Melissa from Stylish Blooms jumped at the opportunity to provide the bouquet and boutonniere…literally. We discussed the shoot with her late the night before and told her that we would need everything early, and the next thing that Eric remembers is waking up in the hallway at 7 am with a bouquet in his hand (Melissa came to drop everything off, Eric and I were still sleeping and our 3 year old let her right into our house…where she was greeted by Eric half asleep, completely confused and in his underwear). Do we know how to make a first impression or what Melissa? Hopefully the images we took make up for that introduction. Thank you also to Lindsey Gallagher for an excellent job on Danielle’s hair & makeup.

Nigh-time is when Meatpacking in Manhattan comes alive, so we hit up some spots on Greenwich & Gansevoort, the High Line (until we were kicked out), and then wrapped it all up over some late-night dinner at Pastis. It was a great evening, with a great couple – and we hope you enjoy the pictures!

Danielle=super-star!!
