Inspiration: Bonnie & Clyde | bridal session in Danbury, CT with Konrad & Ela
We know that we seriously have the best job in the world, we rave about our couples, our weddings, and our experiences all the time. But one thing we go gaga about are those opportunities that require us to dig into our “Vault of Inspiration” (yes…it is a real folder that exists on our server of scanned magazine tear outs, movie posters, artwork, sketches, you know…anything that moves us, or gives us goosebumps in some way). We have so many ideas that we have yet to use, and when we come across a couple that completely trusts us and is willing to grant us creative license, we dive in and let magic happen.
For Ela and Konrad (RAD photographer from Visual Obsession) we knew that the iconic 1920′s couple, Bonnie & Clyde were the concept and inspiration we could all really get excited about. To set the stage for our “lovers on the run”, we chose a local train yard…..definitely a place we will revisit to shoot!

Our story begins with Miss Bonnie Parker. Bonnie is bored with life and wants a change. She gets her chance when she meets a charming young drifter by the name of Clyde Barrow. Clyde has dreams of a life of crime that will free him from the hardships of the Depression. Bonnie is instantly charmed by Clyde’s rough exterior and striking looks.

The two fall in love and begin a crime spree that extends from Oklahoma to Texas. They rob small banks with skill and panache, soon becoming minor celebrities known across the country. People are proud to have been held up by Bonnie and Clyde; to their victims, the duo is doing what nobody else has the guts to do. To the law, the two are evil bank robbers who deserve to be gunned down where they stand.

After holding up yet, another local bank they rush to the train yard to hop the next line toward Houston.

Clyde Barrow, recently out of prison, turned to bank robbery to free himself from a life of hardship and manual labor. Bonnie Parker was looking for anything to free herself from the same daily routine she had grown to hate. Together they found how much they craved and needed each other.

Their train arrives and they head to yet another unsuspected southwest town to terrorize anything in their path.

Finally, they arrive at their next destination: Houston. The couple plans on hitting their next target by sundown and finding shelter anywhere they can find.

Little did the couple know, the local authorities were waiting for them. The closest place they could find to take cover was a cemetery…..the same one Clyde’s prison mate was buried in three years earlier.

Known for his skepticism Clyde was never able to trust anyone or anything. Bonnie knew that Clyde could snap at the drop of a hat but nothing could have prepared Bonnie for what happened next. Paranoia got the best of Clyde and he was convinced Bonnie had contacted the authorities and struck a plea bargain.
Finally, Bonnie convinces Clyde of her innocence but not before the authorities arrive.....and claim their lives.....
