Obvious as it may be, “And I Love Her” is standing out to me for some reason for a slideshow this round – it’s nothing you haven’t heard before, and as a result really doesn’t need much introduction. But I do have a sweet little recall about a friend getting married to a guy in a band (I know, it happens sometimes!) and how the rest of the band decided to do this song a cappella as part of the ceremony, as a wedding present to them – my goodness. Have you ever heard an acoustic cover of a Beatles song like this echoing out into the beams and ballasts of a church? I hadn’t. And it for sure did not disappoint one iota – it was nothing short of amazing. Two guitars, hand-held bongos, and those gorgeous, flawless harmonies carrying through the whole place – I think everyone in the church just about came close to crying. And as if that’s not enough, those two people who got married that day (Dave and Rinell, for the record) are to this date still one of the happiest couples I know! Let the good Beatles mojo abound.
